Discover Underground Wonders at Natural Bridge Caverns

I highly recommend this place!! The park area was very clean, and the great landscape made the entire fall experience a plus. Also there are great fun activities for all ages . Our tour guide did great job!!

I had heard that this was one of the largest caverns in Texas, and I had always wanted to visit. Since my child had a day off from school, we were able to go on a weekday. I bought the tickets online, and even an hour before our visit, they hadn’t sold out. You can buy tickets at the site as well, but you may end up waiting for about an hour, so I wouldn’t recommend it. If you book in advance, arriving just 10 minutes before the tour starts is fine. The gift shop was well-stocked, but I felt it wouldn’t be the best place to kill time for an entire hour. There were plenty of tables and chairs, so if you bring something to do, you could pass the time easily. This was our first time visiting the caverns, and we took the Hidden Tour. Next time, when friends come to visit, we’re planning to try the Discovery Tour. The Hidden Tour is a newer one, launched in May 2023, and features total darkness and a light show experience. We started by descending quite a few steps, and I was a little worried about the climb back up, but to my relief, there were no stairs on the way back. We took something like the moving walkways you see in airports to return to the surface. As long as you’re okay with going down stairs, this tour should be fine for both kids and seniors. Our tour guide did a great job explaining how the caverns were formed, what unique features we were seeing, and how these caverns compared to others. I believe his name was Andrew. The tour started at 12:00 and ended at 1:15 PM, so it was exactly 75 minutes as advertised. The temperature inside was 70°F with 99% humidity. Honestly, a short-sleeved shirt or a thin long-sleeved shirt is enough. We brought jackets just in case but didn’t need them. My son wore jeans and a T-shirt and kept saying he was hot. As for footwear, I asked the staff, and they said sandals were fine, so I switched into my comfortable sandals right before the tour. In the end, it was totally okay. Some of the stairs and slopes were wet, but there were handrails throughout, so as long as you hold onto them and walk slowly, there shouldn’t be any issues. Most people were wearing sneakers, but as the staff mentioned, sandals worked too. It was a fantastic experience, and I felt a deep connection to the wonders of the Earth. I’ll definitely be back.

Our family trip to the Natural Bridge Caverns was an amazing experience. I highly recommend visiting for anyone that has the opportunity. I purchased tickets for the Discovery Tour online. We were slightly late but the employee at the ticket counter was very helpful with having our tour time changed to the next available. The tour guide was very friendly and was very knowledgeable about the cave. He provided tons of educational information and was very patient with giving everyone on the tour time to take videos and photos. I was able to capture so many beautiful photos and videos. There are plenty of hand rails to assist with walking in the steep and wet areas on path. They take a photo for you that can be purchased for $26.99 at the end of the tour. We visited one of the two restaurants while we were there which offers hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken strips, fries, grilled cheese, brisket, slushies, sodas, coffee, beer, wine, and popcorn. There are two stores to purchase a variety of different souvenirs. There is also a restaurant/sweet/ brew shop that offers, pizza, ice cream, sweets, and beer and wine. Every employee we encountered provided great customer service.

It was a nice experience, we really enjoyed it. The tour guide was informative and friendly. We also enjoyed the outdoor games near the picnic tables and the gift shop. Pretty humid in the cavern but not so bad. Wear comfortable shoes with good traction as the trails are steep and wet. (Hand railings throughout) You can bring a water bottle inside the cavern, there’s also a water fountain inside the cavern and at the exit with the ability to purchase beverages. Dress comfortably. Picnic areas outside. Pretty tranquil.

Had a great tour guid Celeste she was funny patient and still maintained awareness to keep the cave protected and persevered. She also answered all questions we had. I highly recommend the tours here and if you can get her. Cooler months are best to go I’ll say the caves are naturally very humid.
