Best Summer Fun on the River at Don's Fish Camp

Didn’t know what to expect, comparing it to the many locations in New Braunfels. It was nice that you drive up and pay, the line went fairly quickly to do so and they had a few different attendant lines to make it quicker. After paying and getting in they directed the traffic to park quickly as well. We put air in our tubes we brought. This is one area they can improve in, we told them when we paid we had our own tubes. They don’t want the tubes you bring onto the bus to have air in them/the ability to fold them and hold them on the bus… we had to deflate them once we got to the bus. The driver was pretty cool helped us with everything, they also played some really good music during the drive. Offloading was quick but the air compressor station was backed up and we ended up re-inflating our tubes by hand, that sucked! After that it was smooth sailing! We floated about 3-4 hrs and it was awesome! At the very end there is a rope swing that was put in, it was fun to swing off and into the river! Besides the air for the tubes, it was a great time!

You can take your tube. Just dont inflate it bc they have hoses down at the entrance for you to blow up your tube. We went late, so there wasn't a line to air ours up. You may think the air hose won't inflate your tube, but it will. What i did was put my thumb on the side and put the nozzle in there, and the air went in just fine. The float was long enough for us. 3 hours is perfect. We got some rain and clouds, but it was still good. We didn't know anything about this place when we first got there. We should have looked it up. we had a family of about 18 float we all separated of course. Lol. But it was fun. Got stuck, but it was bound to happen. 21 per person is eh but worth it in the end it was my 11 year Olds first time and he liked it. My 6 year old not so much, which is understandable. Overall the scenery was pretty and green. Will definitely come back. Also it would be great if some people would ask if it's people's first time to tell them to go to the little station and sign in for bus pick up. Just a suggestion bc we didnt know crap with my little group.

Alright... so I had a blast. The river was beautiful, as always, and the weather was pretty perfect with some cloud coverage from time to time. I went at 12:30PM on a Thursday and the shuttle to the drop off left right after I paid. The only issue I had was that once dropped off I went to inflate my tube, I bring my own, but they didn't have the connection for an ordinary black tube. So I had to take two of their tubes so I could tow mine back. I tried calling a couple of times but couldn't get through. That said... All went well and I had a great time. Here's some things to know... If you are bringing your own tube do not inflate it beforehand. There are some great places to sit and enjoy yourself alms you really should. It took me about 3 hours on a weekday. I will be back... just need to figure out my tube situation. It felt weird not having my usual tube. KEEP THE RIVER CLEAN!

We just had two amazing days floating with Dons fish camp. Super easy, and super friendly staff. If you want to float and not worry about catching a bus ride after your done this is the spot. Parking is at the end and then take you to the beginning. Then you can take your time and enjoy the river at your own pace. Will absolutely be back!
