Hike the Enchanted Rock Summit Trail

This is by far one of the most unique landscapes you'll find in the Texas State Park system. I've been 3 times, and the last time, it was my first to hike the trails. The Rock. The main attraction. There are areas of very steep incline. Shoes with good grip is highly recommended. Bring water. Bring a hat (zero shade on the way up). I recommend using a switchback hike to the top. It's a challenge but the views are worth it. There is a small cave not far from the top. Great trails. They are visibly marked. They are easy to walk. Some areas are not as even, but that just makes the hike even better. We went off trail and found a huge boulder with a crawl space underneath. Some of you know what's under there. The loop trail provides a very nice view of the entirety of the rock. You'll find a large quartz deposit in one area. Take the extra steps to go down by the small lake and take in that view. Large shade tree if you need a break from the sun in the warmer months. This is one of my favorite parks to visit and the trails are already calling me back. Make sure you reserve ahead. We arrived with reservation in hand at 10am, and they were already booked for the day. Without a reservation, you may have to turn around.

Nice place to go to. Big rock is cool and the trails are enjoyable. Campsite was nice and the summit is great for photography. The area is generally nice. Camped here and coming in November is probably the best time here in Texas. Actually the whole place has lots of photography opportunities. The hike up can be a little challenging to some and it says on a sign that it takes like an hour and a half to get up there, we'll it took me like 5 minutes so I guess there assuming you are like 80 years old!

We came here on Black Friday and were at the gate one minute before it automatically opened. We parked and hiked straight to the summit to watch the sunrise. It was a beautiful experience and my third time doing it, but it was the first time doing it with my significant other. I absolutely love this park and the hiking trails.

We came right when they opened to catch the sunrise over the hill country. It was amazing. We definitely should have been more prepared and that's on us. Flashlights and better shoes would have been nice. We just used our phone lights. Came across a scorpion and made me think we should have had taller hiking boots. We both wore sneakers which weren't bad, but I went off a buddy's recommendation that the hike was easy and it wasn't terrible, just a little rougher than what we expected. We made it up there in about 25 minutes without stopping each way. The views were breathtaking. It was quiet that early and it was a great place for us to start our anniversary.

Went there bunch of times back in 2018. A great state area with the trailhead that leads you to the top of the rock. Usually it’s a free walk to the top but it’s steep incline but not too long to get up. My favorite spot is that one big rock and like to just sit and relax and also see the views around this area. I wish I can visit there again if I’m ever stationed near that area.
