This was a fabulous tour. Our guide, Teresa, was a great driver and was fun, interesting, and informative. All of the stops were great. We were able to get some great photographs and especially loved the little trek through a slot canyon. I would definitely recommend this desert San Andreas fault tour!

The Red Jeep Tour of the San Andreas Fault with our Guide Mr. Rick Curtiss was spectacular. As a Naturalist Guide Rick was able to give us interesting information on all aspects of the Coachella Valley including information on Fault, but also across the spectrum of human history, geologic features, flora and fauna, weather impacts and drivers. The Jeep was comfortable and gave our combined party of six a pleasant ride and good view, the tour was laid out such that the information unfolded in a logical and interesting sequence. Rick’s open and factual presentation style both invited questions and stayed on plot. A great afternoon and wonderful bookend to our prior day on a self-guided trip to Joshua Tree NP.

FAQs

What happens if it rains?

All of our tours take place as scheduled: rain or shine, cloudy or clear, hot or cold. Thus, you should dress appropriately for the weather. The California desert has a lot of micro climates, so most rainfall is short-lived and isolated. In the unlikely event that it does rain, we carry rain ponchos in all our vehicles. At Desert Adventures’ sole discretion, tours may be altered to accommodate changes in weather so as to provide the safest and most enjoyable experience possible.

Are there restrooms available on the tour?

There are restrooms available on all tours except Painted Canyon & the Mecca Hills (though the guide can stop on the way to/from the Painted Canyon area, if needed). If you have concerns about the availability of restroom facilities during the tour, please speak to your guide privately before you depart so that he or she can plan bathroom stops as needed.

How many people do your vehicles hold?

Our Jeeps hold seven guests. They can also rent other vehicles to accommodate larger groups.
