Discover the Mysteries of the Deep at Birch Aquarium

This place is always a pleasure to visit. Great for bringing your kids and exploring what the sea has to offer. I love the layout of this space and how it has indoor and outdoor experiences. They did a nice job setting up the penguin viewing area and made it really immersive towards the left wing. I appreciate how close the bathrooms are and how well-thought out the space is.

We have been visiting Birch Aquarium on and off for several years and it never disappoints. The exhibits are well maintained and provide ample information. The creatures are fascinating and just awe inspiring. The ocean views from their outdoor touch pools are absolutely breathtaking. We also love sitting down and just watching the kelp sway back and forth and the ocean friends go about their day in the aquarium’s large tank. The only downside, when visiting on certain days, the place can get quite busy/packed. We visit maybe 1-2x a year and we would definitely visit again. We paid $84.85 for 2 adult tickets and one child ticket.

This is a cute, small, reasonably priced aquarium with a child-friendly collection of interactive exhibits, touchable sea creatures, and birds. Parking is free but limited with a gift shop and cafe. Fantastic views of the Pacific.

Came here on the weekend when family was visiting the area. Do NOT recommend going on a weekend if you actually want to enjoy your visit and view the exhibits comfortably. It was especially irritating since you're required to buy timed tickets in advance online. WHY are they timed if the aquarium still lets in fifty eleven hundred people in at the same time?? This aquarium is pretty limited as aquariums go. Most tanks or viewing windows are too small for many people to view simultaneously. You kind of get shuffled into two opposing lines, waiting patiently for your turn to take a peek while the group behind you is breathing down your neck. The shark exhibit wasn't visually appealing, and it was difficult to even see them clearly in the dark area. The touch tanks were set up outside, like afterthoughts. They weren't impressive and were right next to a pond of stagnant water. I did appreciate their pretty decent seahorse and jellyfish exhibits. I've definitely seen more extensive ones, but for as small as Birch is, they did an okay job. The markers were clear, easy to follow and read. The gift shop was large and fun to browse. If you're a fan of aquariums, have young children, and you're in the area, check it out on a weekday. Personally, I wouldn't go out of my way again.

Absolutely loved this place. It was such a nice educational trip for my children and I. I loved all the fish the aquariums and the little bits of provided information they had everywhere. Only complaint is parking. It took us a very long time to find a spot but once that was done the fun began. I really hope to go back soon. My kids said they would love to go back as well so that’s a win in my book.
