AIRE Ancient Baths: Urban Oasis in Chicago

What a truly beautiful and relaxing space. I've been to similar spas all over the world (not AIRE), and this one by far had THE best service from the Staff. The bathrooms/changing areas were clean and easy to navigate. I do wish the mirror + hair area was a bit bigger.. there were only two stations and a bunch of us women crowded around it. The bathing suit dryer was an amazing touch, so youre not carrying a sopping wet suit out with you. The baths themselves were lovely and I enjoyed the circuit. Unfortunately it seemed like the steam rooms were not up to par that day because there wasn't that much steam (other friends who have gone here before said that wasn't the case for them). I really enjoyed the outdoor waterfall and the heated marble slabs. The float pool was amazing but I do wish it was bigger so that people could spread out more. The lighting everywhere was perfect, and the juices available were tasty. Water and tea are complimentary.

Magical experience. Massage was fantastic, staff was helpful and clear about instructions to navigate your time in the baths. The atmosphere was an experience in itself with candles lit everywhere and quiet music. Ambiance was fantastic and there was enough space to enjoy private areas even while being in a public place. We will be back! Highly recommend for a solo adventure, couples day, or friends gathering. the fewer people the more I think you'll enjoy it though, embrace the silence to really relax the soul!

This place is amazing! Not only is it relaxing, calming and peaceful it’s smells great. Had candles everywhere that set a relaxing mood, and the employees who tend to you are lovely. Philippe the manager I spoke with was exceedingly kind and helpful in addressing my special requests. They were very accommodating of my disabilities. I was so impressed with the experience at the bath house that we canceled our massages at the four seasons hotel, and came back here twice in four days! It’s that good. Do yourself a favor and if you’re visiting Chicago make a two hour stop and kick off your trip right.

What a relaxing way to start my vacation in Chicago! I saw this all over social media as a must-try spot to visit. I had an incredible massage with Jean, I could feel the tension leaving my body the whole time. I blinked and the 45 minutes was up! Unfortunately, they forgot to give me the complimentary drink that came with my massage and I didn’t realize until I left. The actual baths themselves were interesting. I didn’t find myself wanting to be in them for that long, I actually stayed in the steam rooms. They felt lovely. The ladies in the dressing rooms were helpful and they had L’Occitane haircare products and Dyson hot tools. I enjoyed my experience, but it did still feel a tad too expensive for what you are getting so that knocked it down to a 4/5.

An ethereal reward for the body as well as mind. We were warmly greeted and wisked away to change for our spa time. I absolutely adored the spa slippers worn for health & safety. The appointment times are great for crowd control and hygiene (I saw attendants cleaning or helping guests). We did a cold plunge in the steam room to get ready for our massage but our massage therapists were masterfully attentive to all our aches and pains- we just wanted to go to sleep 😴 when they got done. Once in the different pools, time literally drifted away. This is not an experience but a destination to euphoria.
