Itinerary

Arrive early at the Jenny Lake Visitor Center to secure parking.
Purchase your boat shuttle tickets at the dock.
Take the boat shuttle across Jenny Lake.
Disembark and follow the trail left through the forest for 0.6 miles to reach Hidden Falls.
Enjoy the view at Hidden Falls and take photos.
Backtrack to the junction and bear left to hike 0.5 miles up to Inspiration Point.
Enjoy the panoramic views from Inspiration Point and have lunch.
Return to the boat dock or hike the 2-mile trail around the eastern edge of Jenny Lake back to the visitor center.

Visited in June. We took the option to ride the boat over, hike to inspiration point, the waterfall, and hike back around the lake. The trails were nice. We did encounter a bear foraging for food, and we waited while it crossed the trail from the suggested distance over 20 feet at least. We also saw a moose in the pond along the hike! The trail is not flat on the way back. It varies from rocky, dirt, and some small hills. Pleasant in the morning to early afternoon.

I recently hiked the Jenny Lake Trailhead, and it was an incredible experience! The views of the lake and mountains were absolutely stunning, and I couldn’t stop taking photos. The trail is well-maintained and perfect for all levels of hikers. Whether you want a relaxing walk or a bit of a challenge, this trail offers it all. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a beautiful and peaceful outdoor adventure.

Great hike and saw multiple moose with a calf. We paid for the boat ferry which we waited 30 minutes to get on the boat to go over. Coming back was a 1 hour 45 minute wait for ferry. Come early or the wait will be long. If you come later in the day and is crowded it is quicker to do the 2.5 mile walk both ways and save the $20 per person.

This lake is stunning and you can see the rocks on the bottom. There are several tones of blue to the water and a beautiful background of the Teton mountains. There are great public restrooms, a lot of places to get in and access the lake and even a little store. I only took a star because there were so many people and then boat traffic so it distracted from the tranquil view for me.

Go early to take the shuttle boat out where you don't have to look for parking and wait in line. I suggest getting here around 7am as that's when the shuttle boat opens and still plenty of parking spaces. They have a family price of 2 adults and up to 4 kids for $60rt. We did rt as we have toddlers in our group. It's a nice boat ride and a short hike to the hidden fall. You can also hike other trails. All trails are marked. They said there were sightings of bears but we didn't see any during our hike. The view is spectacular. It was the highlight of our trip to Grand Teton national Park.
