Denver’s Premier Live Jazz Dining Experience at Nocturne

My husband and I visited Nocturne in August 2024 for our wedding anniversary. We chose the Ellington Experience and I am so glad we did. This experience was quite literally the best meal we've ever had. The drink pairings were exceptional as was the service. Every employee we interacted with was courteous and helpful. JD even helped my husband coordinate to have a dozen roses delivered to the restaurant. We don't live in Denver, but we WILL be back to Nocturne. If you're looking for an intimate, romantic dinner and fantastic live music, Nocturne is the place to go.

Oh my God!!! it has been a while since I have experienced a restaurant/jazz club like Nocturne. I don’t think you can find a better one in Denver. I would compare it to the Birdland in New York or the Jazz Playhouse in the French Quarter of New Orleans,…. Just a tad bit smaller. However, don’t let the size of this establishment shy you away. The service was top-notch, and the food was out of this world. My wife and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and it was definitely a night to remember. JD the host was phenomenal. He called us a few days in advance to discuss our menu preferences and was there to walk us as we walked through the door. Our menu had our names printed on the front page, and the five course meal was tailored to our liking if I could give this place 10 out of five stars, I would. I highly highly highly recommend this spot if you love live jazz music, upscale atmosphere and a relaxing evening. Thank you Nocturne. We will definitely be back

This was such an amazing experience for my husband and I. This was a treat for our one year anniversary and it did go beyond our expectations as far as talent, atmosphere, and service. We purchased the dinner and a show which ended up around $240 with a three course meal and a live 90 min. show was a great price. The food was beautifully presented! the flavors were a little overpowering for our taste but I did selected the rabbit and was pleasantly surprised! We really loved Stephen P Harvey his viberant personality and the stories behind each song gave the set so much life and each musician was so talented. We were surprised with a toast and a Happy Anniversary sign on our 3rd course.

My husband and I were planning a mid-week elopement and were looking for a nice restaurant to have dinner afterwards. We wanted something intimate and romantic, where I would not feel weird wearing my wedding dress. We searched and searched but nothing quite fit the bill…until we stumbled on the Ellington Experience at Nocturne. Let me tell you, this was EXACTLY the experience we were looking for!! The lighting, the jazz music (the Vlad Girshevich Trio was great!), the super cozy nook we were seated in…down to the little details like “Just Married” napkins and a personalized menu with our names on it. JD, the concierge/host, reached out a few days in advance to see what kinds of foods we like and don’t like or have allergies to, so that they could curate a menu for us. Every single food and wine pairing on our menu was perfect and delicious. They were generous with pours, and gave us complimentary macarons after our final course. Service was very attentive. The next day, I realized I had left our custom printed menu behind…I had wanted to keep it as a memento. I reached out to JD about it and they kindly printed another one for me to pick up. To anyone in our shoes looking for a one-of-a-kind romantic dinner, the Ellington Experience is the way to go! It is pricey but worth it for a very special occasion. We will definitely be back for a normal “dinner and a show” or bar seating.

Nocturne is one of the most elegant spots in Denver. The live music performance’s are wonderful and authentically jazz. The food and drink pairing are well executed and delicious combinations that will elevate an already delightful experience.
