Scenic Railroad Journey Through Royal Gorge

A family business with pride of ownership clearly visible from the moment you cross the tracks to departure two and a half hours later! We took the noon luncheon train, and what a great way to experience the grandeur of the 'gorge'. Our meal was excellent, service five star, and accommodation perfect. We dined in the dome car with spectacular views and wandered to the open air car for an even more delightful experience (don't miss the opportunity)! Overall, fantastic! Return worthy?! Absolutely!

We enjoyed the train ride. The servers were wonderful. It’s hard to hear the narrative on the speakers but that’s because everyone is chatting and enjoying the ride. We chose to sit in the dome car and it was worth the upgrade for the view. The open air car offers amazing views.

An incredible Train Ride!! So much to see, things to learn. The employers were telling us the story behind the train road on the way. Menu has variety of delicious appetizers and drinks. I spend the entire ride outside looking at the amazing views. It wasn't snowing but it was pretty cold, you could get inside to get warm every often. The offer you a picture at the end if you want to pay extra for it. Get something cozy for winter time ❄️❄️

This was our first train ride in many years and we were a little unsure of how we would like it...we loved it! We highly recommend this train. We did not realize what a relaxing and fun experience it was. The seating was nice, we were on one of the Vista cars, the Canyon in particular. Our server, Rachel, was awesome so efficient and friendly just a genuinely nice person. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, we had the burgers and they were great but in hind sight we should have split a sandwich and had nachos. The nachos looked and smelled delicious! And I have to say as a long time brewery worker and beer drinker their beers are fantastic! After the ride was over I stuck around for a few minutes and asked the porter/conductor some train questions and he was very well informed and friendly. Initially after the ride I felt like this was a one time deal but now we are discussing coming back and doing a higher level ride. Bottom line we loved the experience.

This train ride was excellent. My son rated it a 10/10. We had read prior reviews that indicated the food was pricey and not great, so we ate prior to our ride. It looked good from what we saw. We did order the brownie and it was huge and delicious. The ride was so much fun. The gorge was beautiful. We ventured out to the outdoor car and saw mountain goats. Drinks were good but pricey. Would recommend this if you’re in the area.
