Exploring the Serene Waters of Rainbow Springs State Park

I thoroughly enjoyed exploring this park by myself. Beautiful walking trails with man-made waterfalls were very peaceful. The water is gorgeous and I highly recommend paddling down the rainbow river on a shuttle run if you'd like to kayak or paddleboard. It's the clearest river you will find. There was lots of wildlife. This park is well-maintained and absolutely worth visiting!

While we didn’t make it in to the park during the daytime, the officer told us, “come back around 3p or 4p.” That’s when Rainbow Springs State Park would reopen. And….so we did! Beautiful and breathtaking views. The “watering hole” was jam packed with people at 4:30pm so I can’t imagine what it looks like when the park is at capacity. That said, we were able to enjoy some time in the very cold waters of Rainbow Springs. Definitely worth a stop and a return!! Canoe and kayak rentals are available, as well as a restaurant for eating. Learned that there are 3 waterfalls here so we went in search Enjoy the pics!

Best river I’ve been on. It’s so spacious where boats can idle down, love that it has a lot of depth in a lot of areas but some shallow spots that you can get out and relax. It’s so freaking clear and beautiful and lots of wildlife. Leaving from KP Hole they check coolers and drinks. No alcohol and Tupperware only. It helps the life of the river. This river is 10/10

Experience is definitely the word to describe Rainbow Springs! The water is cool, clean, and clear. The paddle was great. If you have your own kayak, be ready to walk your kayak about a 1/4 of a mile with turns, downhill, uphill, stairs, and more walking. The website says no disposable items. We brought our food in containers. It is very beautiful. We saw 2 alligators. They did not mess with us. We saw an otter, turtles, fish, and birds.

This is a hard one to review. We are happy we visited once but we wouldn't go again unless we lived nearby and then it would be for the park as much as for the beautiful springs. The entry fee was only $1 per person when we visited due to a limited discount by the governor. Normal admission is $2 per person. Can't complain about that. You are limited to what type of floats you can bring in so make sure to read about that. The main thing I would address is the fact that the swimming area is over your head the entire space. I saw a man step off the steps and down he went totally not expecting to go over his head. He was surprised. Also, many parents had children that did not have appropriate floats on. Because of not being able to touch bottom and the coldness of the water, most people just crowded around the dock and all the stairs and steps were blocked most of the time. We enjoyed going in the water and had pool noodles that we brought in. They are allowed. But, it is nice to be able to put your feet on shallow spots in most of the springs we visit. If I had children I wouldn't go here when there are so many other springs that have shallow areas. The park itself is absolutely beautiful, with waterfalls and a very nice paved walkway that is a 2.5 mile loop. Definitely worth a visit....or several.
