Walk Among the Trees: Gatlinburg Skywalk Adventure

Besides a poorly trained lift operator, ( they allowed us to escalate with no safety bar engaged. ) The experience is very nice. We also did the add on Astra Lumina, an illuminated walking trail. There was plenty to do , in a one of a kind experience for all ages.

We had to wait over an hour to get in. Part of that is because We chose to ride the gondola up. But after waiting for over 30 minutes, decided to get on the chair lift to go up. Would've been quicker to take the bus up. It was a cold and misty day, but We would stop by a heater or fire and drank hot chocolate. We walked across the rope walks. Enjoyed the scenic view. There's also a tower you can climb that is the highest point in Gatlinburg.

We really liked this attraction. We went during the October fest celebration. Plenary of fall themed decorations, the park was super neat and clean. Good food options at the top as well , during the peak season you can expect long lines to take the gondola or the chair up this is when you may want to opt for the safari car ride up it’s the shortest line then take the chair lift down .

My husband and I visited and weren’t quite sure what to expect we enjoyed the experience but felt like most of the experience was geared towards kids. We did eat at the BBQ place and it was good, views were good as well as cocktails. We went in November and it was pretty chilly once we got to the top, if you haven’t been to Gatlinburg before it’s definitely worth it to go not sure we would go again since we visit a few times a year. Line took about 2 hours even though we had purchased tickets online before hand so expect a wait. This could definitely be improved/more organized! The lady/family in front of us has purchased tickets online and after waiting an hour in line they made her go get out of line to exchange tickets then we had to return to end of line! So I don’t recommend buying tickets until you get there and are in line and can scan the code (that’s what we did and we did t have any issues)

So much fun!!!! While the views are spectacular the Bear-Varian fall festival brought it to the next level. Bier tasting on top of the mountain cant get any better. Seeing Mother nature painting the world from snow to sun. October is the month to visit this 💎!!
